Privacy Policy
Last updated: April 18, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how FinMath ("we", "us", or "our") collects and uses information when you visit finmath.co (the "Site"). By using the Site, you agree to the practices described here.
1. Information we collect
FinMath is designed to be privacy-respecting. The numbers you enter into calculators are processed entirely in your browser and are not transmitted to our servers.
We do, however, collect limited information automatically:
- Anonymous usage data via Google Analytics 4 and Cloudflare Web Analytics — page views, approximate country, device type, browser. Not tied to your identity.
- Server logs — standard HTTP logs (IP address, user agent, referrer) retained briefly for security and debugging.
- Local storage — your theme preference (dark/light) is saved in your browser. Not transmitted to us.
2. Cookies
We use cookies for analytics and advertising. Specifically:
- Google Analytics cookies (
_ga,_gid) — to understand site usage. - Google AdSense cookies — to serve relevant ads.
You can control or disable cookies through your browser settings. Disabling analytics cookies will not affect calculator functionality.
3. Advertising
FinMath displays ads served by Google AdSense. Google uses cookies and similar technologies to serve ads based on your interests and prior visits. You can learn more and opt out of personalized advertising at google.com/settings/ads.
For users in the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, or Switzerland, we rely on Google's Consent Management Platform (Funding Choices) to obtain consent for personalized advertising in accordance with GDPR.
4. Third-party services
The Site uses the following third-party services which may collect data independently:
- Google Analytics — Google Privacy Policy
- Google AdSense — Google Ads Policy
- Cloudflare (hosting & analytics) — Cloudflare Privacy Policy
5. Data retention
We do not maintain user accounts and do not retain personal data beyond what is needed for analytics and security logs (typically 26 months for Google Analytics, per Google's default).
6. Your rights
Depending on your jurisdiction (GDPR, CCPA, etc.), you may have the right to access, correct, or delete personal data collected about you. Since FinMath does not maintain user accounts, most such requests apply to data held by Google. Contact Google directly, or email us at hello@finmath.co and we will assist where possible.
7. Children's privacy
FinMath is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy occasionally. The "Last updated" date above will reflect any changes. Continued use of the Site after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
